Set your course by the stars and dash into dance with **Hip Motions Shooting Stars Workshop Series**. Our workshops are designed to help students and experienced dancers alike broaden their dance experience! What is a Workshop? These are common in the dance world and considered "intensives", a way to study with a specific instructor that sometimes you wouldn't normally have access to because they live somewhere else. It is also a way for local dancers to give a specific topic in a 2-3 hr timeframe instead of over a month or two in a regular hourly class. Think of it as a special 2 hour class with a professional dancer. Always a great way to enhance your dance and learn as much as you can!

Bianca’s Creative Candle Choreography (Belly Dance with a Candle prop) - 11am - 12:00pm ($35)

Join Bianca in learning an enchanting choreography including Votive candles! You will learn how to hold the candles & make them look effortless, body mechanics of movement for combinations in choreography and dance all while being aware of the flame. This beautiful dance choreography is simple yet challenging but also so rewarding. Bianca has been studying the ancient arts for over 20 years. She is a Florida native from Titusville and very active in her community. Before and while studying the arts, Bianca played soccer for 25 years, including playing for Astronaut High School and Rollins College. In addition to soccer, Bianca began practicing and studying the ancient art of yoga in 1996. Bianca is also a brown belt with Shorin Ryu Karate. Bianca's belly dance journey began with a VHS tape and her mother. She is now owner of BellyDance and Beyond Studio in Titusville, FL.

Please bring your own candles to this workshop. Votives can be flameless as well.

Zorba’s Zealous Zills (Finger Cymbals) -12:30pm - 2:30pm ($35)

Want to learn finger cymbals but have tried different formats and still can't get it? Finger cymbals are instruments and add a unique, dynamic element to your dance. Because they are in fact an instrument and not a prop they aren't "easy". Zorba cannot teach you how to play finger cymbals in one 2 hour workshop - nobody can. However, what he can do is give you the tools to teach yourself. If you've been frustrated with counts and mantras, Zorba's method dispenses with those ideas and lets you learn and create more naturally - by feel, like a musician and similar to improv dancing versus hard choreographed steps. Zorba has been dancing and performing with finger cymbals for over 2 decades and has mastered the art of playing this instrument while dancing. Come learn his methods and tools and you'll be zilling in your own unique way!
